A collection of all of the random things I loved on the internet in the previous week, and why you might love them, too. Or at least crush on them.
- Christine Kane reminds us that one of the quickest ways to defuse drama is to get in touch with the facts. A very practical technique for keepin’ it real, yo.
- Sera Beak talks about making love to trees (yes-not-quite-but-kind-of-that-way; you have to read it to understand). I love the way this woman writes, and she always inspires me to find more love in all of its incarnations.
- Sean Platt guests on Write to Done with a useful guide to keeping a journal. I have kept journals for most of my life, sometimes writing every day and sometimes not for years at a time. About a year ago, I started using Google docs to keep a journal, as I can do it anywhere there’s internet access (plus, after years of typing, writing by hand is just painful). Journaling is now part of my morning ritual, whether it’s one sentence or several paragraphs. As Sean says, there are no rules—just find a method that works for you and clear out that brain!
- A beautiful thought on simply being present from Gwen Bell. What a great idea to be present to people first, before taking any action. Or to just be present, without taking any action at all.
